Add chicken slices and onions; cook for about 5 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink and onions are translucent. Add garlic, bell peppers, chicken broth, diced tomatoes with juice, tomato paste, oregano leaves, basil leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in heavy cream; cook for an additional 5 minutes or until heated through. Serve immediately over hot cooked rice or pasta if desired
